- Rimsky-Korsakov (He wrote Flight of the Bumblebee, Love all his works i.e. Scheherazade...)
- Russian Easter Overture
- Beethoven (If nothing else, listen to these 2, I've even narrowed it down to the movement!)
- Seventh Symphony- Movement 2
- Sixth Symphony- Movement 1
- Elgar (he wrote Pomp and Circumstance- the graduation song- but I hate that. Just so you know, it's a lot more interesting and long than the graduation song part- why don't we play the whole piece instead of the same small boring part 500 times over and over and over and over...)
- EnigmaVariations Number 10 (sometimes it's number 9)- Nimrod- Adagio (I absolutely all the variations though)
- Massenet
- Meditation from Thais- a very famous violin solo
- Elegie- O Doux Printemps- also from an opera, but Joshua Bell's violin solo version is beautiful
- Saint-Saens
- Danse Bacchanale- my very first full orchestra piece to play... and my last (hopefully not my last forever though)
- Smetana- listen to the whole songs and you'll recognize the theme/ part in both
- The Moldau- I like this- it's super hard to play, but you will have heard the main theme that comes in after a minute or so
- Finlandia- one of my favorite hymns... "Be Still My Soul" came from part of this piece near the end
- Tchaikovsky- AMAZING composer
- Symphony 4
- Symphony 5
- Symphony 6

The Best Music Ever Written
I "sing" classical (ok, it's not all from the classical era, but what else do you call it?) pieces like I sing to the radio- I always sing my violin part (or my favorite part). For those who don't appeciate orchestral classics... just pick one of these and fall in love! They, to me, are THE most amazing pieces of music ever written. I listed some pieces you may have heard next to some composers (in most cases the pieces I love by them are nothing like the crap that is famous- ok it's not crap just not their best). It's too hard to pick favorites, so I've tried to take out most of my violin pieces and the quirkier stuff that may take a few more listens to fall in love with.

mmm good music. I'm singing the part to Beethoven's 7th right now. Ohh and the Moldau.
We have this fantastic classical radio station here that I can't get enough of! SO many good pieces all the time. And I hear about all the great concerts going on arounf here... I just have yet to make it to one. I'm too cheap for classical concerts without student discounts!
