Talk Shows

Why do talk shows- especially morning shows- only schedule 1.365 minutes for each guest interview/ segment?  They always end up rushing everything and hardly even talking to the guest or about the topic, but then they spend 45 minutes blabbering on senselessly about ridiculous topics no-one cares about- oh and the other 13.7 minutes are spent telling us to stay tuned for their invterview with the guest 13 times.
