I'm on the Terrorist Watch List

Here are a few (borrowed) pictures from the lake. We've gone the past few weekends. AmyJo, Aimee, and Bryana went one weekend, then Jerry and Cassie went the next weekend! While the lake is only 10% full (pray for rain!!), and it was ridiculously cold and windy, I had fun with everyone who joined us there! I hope everyone else had fun- especially since it's the beginning of lake season so we had a few bumps in the plans and lots of fixing up to do on the house- but thanks to Jerry and everyone for being so helpful there will hopefully be little of that for the rest of the summer. Oh, and a special thanks to my dog for being a dufus and eating the door... thanks- I hope it was delicious.

I wish person #3 would post her pictures so I can have more... maybe I should just buy a new camera? No, I'm cheap.

Random updates:

  • my mom had lens replacement surgery and now can see 20/25 - she's ecstatic. Her glasses were super thick- I think I only saw her 5 times with them on- now she doesn't need anything!
  • I heard this today: "America on Obama: Buyer's Remorse"
  • The drunk lady came in the store again today. She just comes in a lot: either buying beer, then wanting to drive away (we try to stop her or call the cops if we can't- we don't sell her beer if she's drunk, don't worry), or harassing customers for money for gas. I feel so bad for her, but then again- giving her money will NOT help her, so what do you do???
  • I'm struggling with myself and Westside?- maybe, maybe just traditional "Church of Christ" stuff in general- wasn't Christ and his church dynamic and loving and involved- out in the world? I'm really trying to do this, but I need help! I'm tired of just being our happy little selves in our building and then going home. I realize this is 99% me, but I need some help (from more than 1-2 people...)
  • Don't go to law school unless you have enough money to pay for it- loans are not worth it.
  • oh and we just had a riveting lesson on alcohol Sunday morning AND Sunday night. I will be imbibing some delicious Bud Light tomorrow night- mmm. It's my blog- nobody reads it- so no apologies (why would it say let not the deacons be given to "much wine" in 1 Tim 3:8 if it's non-alcoholic grape juice??? 'Don't drink too much grape juice, guys- it's bad, real bad.' no comprendoooooooo)
  • I went to a banquet tonight and talked so much I was eating really slowly (yeah, I talked a lot, it's crazy), then everyone was finished and all I had eaten was mashed potatoes and corn. So now I'm hungry and there's no food at home!
  • Don't you think it's odd that Jesus didn't condemn slavery? I'm in no way wanting to re-institute it- but it is odd to me since we think its so wrong and he didn't...
  • I used fake tanner today, and while it smelled good (Hawaiian Tropic stuff smells yummy) in the can (and not like fake tanner)- I reek of it now... eww.
  • I'm on the terror watch list- woohoo, like 1/4 of America at least. I'm sure Big Brother is tapping into my blog as I type- they may have a chip planted in my brain too reading all my thoughts and reading my memory for all know (jk). It's funny... I had a professor in law school who was a conspiracy theorist: he hated cops and was so negative towards humans- he drove me crazy (maybe because he scared the crap out of me) because of his distrust of humanity. Now, I share the same sentiments toward cops and the government- but not humanity in general.

Hey Lani,
I like your blog I find it very funny cause its like the way I think alot of the time. I agree about westide and the "church of christ" in general sometimes. I really think it's because so many people nowadays know who Jesus is- its not this new concept. and with all the twists and perversions of God's word, many people aren't interested.

I think it's such a HUGE struggle to try to debunk the other so called christian religions while talking about true religion. I don't know exactly what to do most of the time besides live a Christian life and try to be an example....i don't feel proud of that but I'm working on trying to figure somethhing out...like printing cool flyers. maybe we can work together. :)
