The Last Month or so:
- I got a new truck :)
- Bryana got married- so I spent a week with her in NY and AL
- I got promoted and now work as an oil and gas title attorney at a law firm near San Antonio. In fact, Brooke and I both got promoted at the same time and we now share an office
- Chamness is getting married in 2 weeks!
- After wrestling with whether or not to buy a certain house or not, I've decided I'll be moving out of my room at casa de Smith (goodbye free rent), and getting my own apt a lot closer to work (I'm not a fan of a 50 minute drive in the morning when I have to be to work by 7 at the latest). San Antonio aint no OKC- where a nice 2 bed/2 bath with washer dryer cost 595... I'll be lucky if I find a nice 1 bed for under $700 here. But, I'm not ready to make San Antonio permanent so the house buying will not occur. I really want to go back to Midland with my family. After living quite a few different places, I just really want to be near them eventually- so I'm glad I realized that before I bought a house.
- I met with my boss about my first few title opinions today and he said they were "very... VERY good" and lots of other wonderful things about me... coming from him, this meant a lot. So, that was a big relief...
- Have you seen the movie How To Save a Life? It's really good... you should definitely see it.
- I have this thing against putting degrees and such on the wall- it just seems pointless to me. Oh, and at work we have to put all of those up (undergrad, law school, and bar admission)... Guess who has no idea where any of these documents are located? And then getting them framed- hundreds of dollars - and that is during Hob Lob's 1/2 off sale! I thought I would just tack them up to the wall (assuming I find them first)- but I have an odd feeling that is also frowned upon...

Are you in Chamness' wedding? I wish I could come but I don't think we'll be able to make the drive. We have our degrees up on our wall at our house! We are losers like that.
You don't have to spend hundreds of dollars to frame your degrees! That's just silly. But I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't know where mine is. :)
How to Save a Life was a great movie! Where did you see it? I wanted our youth group to go see it but couldn't find a showing anywhere. I wonder if it's on DVD yet...
Lani! Sounds like things are going well. I'm so glad. I'm glad your boss likes your work too! That's just great. :)
