It's been a year since my camera broke, I really wish I'd send it in to get fixed so I would have pictures... but I still haven't.
Christmas was wonderful. Mom and I went to visit Ally and Ross in Artesia for a few days before Christmas. We hadn't been there but once- last Christmas- so it was good to see them in their element for once (they come here every other weekend it seems). Mom and Dad took a cross-country drive to the Florida Keys for 2 weeks, while Bill (my uncle who is living with us for a year) went to Colorado- so I had the house to myself! It was nice to be alone for a while, I am a true introvert- I thrive on alone time. But, I did get bored too. I caught up on Prison Break, cleaned a lot, changed the hardware in the kitchen, started a quilt, read 5 books, shopped, and did other mindless tasks.

After Christmas I went to San Antonio since my cousin, Audra, and her family just moved there. Audra and I grew up together as best friends since we're only 2 months apart, but then after graduation she decided to get married to a military man and had to go to Japan for a few years. They have yet to receive their furniture- so we had to entertain ourselves without beds, tv, radio, or even a chair. With 3 kids ages 5, 4, and 3- it wasn't boring. I love those kids- they are so much fun! She and Andre have another one on the way- she is due next week! I look forward to spending more time with them since they don't live on the other side of the world.
Brooke came over New Years Eve and spent the night. We spent our time eating, talking, whooping Andre and Audra at spades even though Andre had some "special" rules that kept coming out (like the 2 of spades is the high card, you can't go nil unless you're down by 100) at just the right time to help them out, and of course playing with Jayla, Keith, and Isaiah. It was a great new year! I enjoyed catching up with Brooke too, we survived law school together, and I miss our fun adventures (not the law school/ bar adventures).
Now, I'm glad to be back to normalcy. Holidays are so much fun, but I did miss church people and store people. Last night I went to singing night with Amy. I can't explain how much of an encouragement she is. I thoroughly enjoy seeing her- the spiritual growth she encourages and her example- and I am so thankful to have a friend like her!
Well, mostly normal. We're cat-sitting for Ally and Ross while they're at some conference and so our house is crazy with animals that don't get along everywhere.
1. There's Paisley, my cat. She's not even nice when no other pets are around- so now we're always on alert for her to attack for no reason. Plus, she's always growling now that there are extra animals here.
2. Hoshi- our other cat. She's sweet and pretty, but cross-eyed. She's not too much of an issue, except that she's in heat.
3. Nala- Ally amd Ross's bow legged crazy cat that doesn't meow- she squeaks-seriously. It's this high pitched squeak. She crawled up my roman shades above my bed last night, then jumped off and landed on my face.
4. Fernand0- or as I call him, Sucre (In honor of Fernando Sucre on Prison Break). Sucre hides- I saw him for the first time today. He's scared of everthing, and everyone.
So there is constant growling, hissing, chasing... enter Coda.
5. Coda- our dog. Coda is a crazy ill-behaved humongous puppy. She just eggs this all on.
As crazy as it is- it's fun too (but I won't be sad when Nala and Sucre leave!)
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!
